Atlanta World Natural Hair Show 2012

It's that time of year again ladies!!!!

 

The Atlanta World Natural Hair Show kicks off this weekend with plenty of naturals visiting the city. Many of you who are visiting will probably want to know about all of the happenings that are going on in the city as well.

We won't be able to attend this year and will instead have a 

Customer Appreciation Sale on April 27 -29!!!

Many curlies and naturals are having natural hair meet ups and other events throughout the city. Lots of events and parties will be taking place during this weekend.

Pinterest Anyone?

My sister turned me on to Pinterest quite a few months ago. I was hesitant at first, but am now loving it as a resource for inspiration and knowledge!

Just in case you are wondering, Pinterest is a social media dream board (so to speak) of things that interest you:) You can pin various images to your board and repin images from others that may interest you as well.

I have found some amazing crockpot recipes, organizational ideas, fashion tips, etc.

We will be setting up our board really soon and will come back and post a link when it's ready.

I just need to figure out how to create more boards so you all can get to view things that interest us:) Check out the repins done thus far here.

Jason Wu Collection for Target

I absolutely LOVE it when Target collaborates with high end designers! If you don't know already, Jason Wu's collection for Target is due out this Sunday, February 5th. I think Target was totally genius for getting designers to create more affordable quality pieces.


Thanks to our lovely first lady, Michelle Obama, for putting him on the map :)

I saw a few pieces from the collection that I am really itching to get into my closet. However, I don't want to get my hopes up too high.

The last time Target featured a major designer (i.e. cough ... Missoni), it was a total nightmare! People crashed the website and practically emptied out ALL of the stores. Yes, you read this right. A lot of it went straight to Ebay with higher price tags.

 The only thing that I was able to get my hands on from that line were a few candles which I gave to my sister. The only thing I really wanted from the line was some luggage.

Hopefully, I will be able to get a few pieces this time around. Will see!

Site Updates in Progress

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have had our web programmer working on our site to install much needed updates and other site additions.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused:(

We are trying to make some wonderful new additions to our site to make it waaaayyyy more informative for everyone.

We will spend the next few weeks adding some how-to slideshows, video tutorials, blog updates, and photos for the image gallery.

UPDATE: Looks like it's going to be another long day! I have to go in and manually add coupon codes, old site settings, etc. All of this is before I can upload the new site additions. If you do encounter any problems on the site, please email us so that can take care of you:) We appreciate your patience during this time:)

Organization Time!!!!

Yes, it's that time again. Time to get organized and be really serious about it this time:) I have enlisted the help of one of my really great friends (Debbie) to help me organize my work space. Debbie just happens to be a personal organizer and a good one at that.

Since I have been getting more buzz and more orders for our products, I had to find a way to make looking for everything more productive and efficient. I realized that I was spending way more time searching for everything, instead of mixing, preparing, & packaging products. I was also ordering the same things twice (yes, I have that much stuff) because I had no real system in place to locate everything quickly. So something had to give.

Here's a picture of some of the progress that has been made so far. This is my packing station:) I have to work with the limited amount of space I have available. This is actually in my den/office space area. The bag hanging on the rack is a laundry bag filled with the eco-shreds that I use for packing!!! This idea came from Debbie.

I will post the pics of how we organized all of my containers as soon as we get them labeled, etc. We spent the weekend building the shelves (thanks to my brother Ken as well) in the garage area for all of my containers. It looks soooo nice already!

We also organized all of my essential oils in alphabetically ordered containers. This alone has saved me some much needed valuable time. My butters are in there place and the oils are all in one. We are also organizing my herbs, emulsifiers, preservatives & additives, etc. I could truly go on and on, but do not want to bore you. LOL
